Royal Hastings University is offering a new master’s program in Multimedia Art. Overseen by Professor Gela Nathaniel, it will include six students from varying walks of life. There’s Jem, the youngest team member and sculptor; Patrick, who owns an art supply store and draws; Cameron, a corporate player suffering from burnout; Jonathan, a gallery owner struggling with loss; Alyson, a successful artist; and Ludya, a single mother who works in graphic design. Over the course of the year, they will have to work together to create a final project. However, one student will meet with a tragic fate and The Examiner would like to know what really happened.
I have never read a book comprised almost entirely of texts and emails. It was super interesting to see an entire story play out without it being told in story form. While some of the characters will certainly get on your nerves, it was certainly a new way to engage the readers. There are very few descriptions here and yet the story felt complete. If you are looking for something different than your usual murder mysteries, this book is for you.
