There is a kind of book production that quietly says, keep me.
Good paper, a balanced jacket, a spine that feels made for repeat use, cover art that does not chase a trend too hard. None of that replaces content, obviously. But it does shape whether a book feels ephemeral or lasting.
I notice that. I suspect most serious readers do.
